Cases Not Recommended for
Hair Transplant

MOMO determines surgery eligibility based on
the client's hair and scalp condition.

MOMO Does Not Blindly
Recommend Surgery

Just as hair transplant requires a major decision, MOMO understands our clients' concerns.
While hair loss patterns may differ between men and women, it is crucial to recognize that there is a "golden time" for hair transplant surgery that should not be missed.

We recommend consistent scalp care, hair loss management, and medication to ensure you do not miss the golden time for hair transplant surgery.

Based on consultations with 35,065 first-time patients at MOMO Plastic Surgery, we confirmed that 13.5% (4,941 patients) were ineligible for hair transplant surgery.

Types Not Recommended for Surgery

  • TYPE 01

    Insufficient Space for Implantation

    Determined based on hair condition.

These are cases where patients visited suspecting hair loss, but the hair density is high, indicating it is not yet the stage for hair transplant surgery.

  • TYPE 02

    Scalp Exposure Due to 'Miniaturization'

Determined based on symptoms and causes.

If the hair strands have thinned, the engraftment rate is likely to be low even with a transplant.
Since follicle strengthening is required, we recommend scalp treatment prior to surgery.

  • TYPE 03

    Insufficient Donor Hair

Determined based on the stage of hair loss progression.

If the area of hair loss is larger than the donor area at the back of the head, we recommend treatment over surgery due to the shortage of donor hair.

  • TYPE 04

Hair Loss Due to Other Medical Conditions

Determined based on the causes of hair loss.

If disease-related hair loss has developed due to scalp inflammation, nutritional imbalance, or tumors, medical treatment is the priority over hair transplant.

MOMO promises a new life beyond hair loss.

  • 1:1 Attending Physician Care

    Consultation, Design, and Surgery

From start to finish, your attending physician
personally manages the entire process from consultation to post-surgery.

  • Systematic Post-Surgery Management

    Post-Surgery Care

A dedicated manager provides 1:1 supervision

  • High Engraftment Rate

    Cytokine Follicle Storage

Harvested hair follicles must be stored in a low-temperature environment of 2-8°C. Until transplantation, we store them in a cytokine solution rather than saline to maintain healthy follicles and ensure safe storage until the procedure.

  • Self-Developed Implanter

    In-house Development

MOMO's medical team, backed by experience with vast amounts of patient data, participated in the research.
